Bob German

Tom Milner (aka Funkysaurus) is now playing bass with The High Country Drifters along with Bob German (Drumosaurus) on drums. The High Country Drifters play classic country music in the Denver Metro and northern Colorado areas.

Bob is also playing drums with Hindsight, out of Boulder, Colorado, who recently played the Boulder Theater.

Ron Heimbecher (aka Duck) is working on the third and fourth in a series of interconnected novels and is the current president of a southern Colorado writer’s organization.

Tell a Lie, Become World Famous!

The B.L.G. (Boomer’s Last Gig) Movement is taking advantage of Woodstock’s 40th birthday to give old hippies and hip youngies a chance tell the greatest story of their lives!

NO! We’re not talking about the old “Yeah, man…I was at Woodstock…the brown acid was totally rank, man.” we’re talking about a REALLY BIG story. We want you to tell the world about what you saw and did at Boomer’s Last Gig, and how it, like totally, changed your life!

Get your facts together by exploring www.boomersaurus.com and our legacy website, then come back here and post YOUR story as a comment.

Here come’s the meteor! I Think I’m going to be Extinct!

So, Boomer’s (that’s me) last post was waa-a-a-ay back in March. Stuff about asthma etc. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out finding a replacement singer for the old duckster, who can’t sing worth a f*ck anymore. Watch for Tom and Dave coming your way with country, and Bob banging the skins from a Boulder band. Got any idea what we can do with the Boomersaurus™ brand, please let us know.

Ten… Nine… Eight…

OK – we’ve had to face some realities. Allergies and asthma have taken a toll on the old Quacker. We find it a bit ironic now that our last show was a benefit for the respiratory disease LAM. The Boomers are auditioning some new vocal talent, and should be starting rehearsals within the next few weeks. Our booking site has been down during the hiatus, and we’ll be building it fresh as the band gets ready to go.

Let the countdown begin!

Seeya,
Boomer

Yes, Dave the Band is Still Together

Ok, so it’s been a while.  I got a note today from Guitarosaurus Dave wondering if the band was still together.  He’s obviously forgotten that we’re on hiatus… ;-)

Getting close to the time to get back to work.  More soon, Dave.

Get those puppies in tune!

Rock Trivia tidbit…  The lizard king sang about the snake and the king’s highway…

Translate this for 50 points…

The Four Rockoteers

OK, it’s been ages since I’ve posted anything… it’s been a little crazy.  Boomersaurus is now a quartet, so Duck has been working his little tailfeathers off picking up new guitar parts and leaning to bounce back and forth between keys and guitar in the same song…

Let’s hear it!!!! P-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-R Ducky….

But Boomersaurus is sounding Good!  If your near Longmont Colorado tomorrow, Friday August 10, come see us at the Free Stage at the Boulder County Fair… 6:30 – 8:00 pm.  You’re gonna LOVE the new sound.  We’ll time travel you through the whole sixties in just 90 minutes.

Hot! Damn Hot!

I write this from a hotel room in Terre Haute Indiana at about 11 pm. On the way to tomorrows gig with the 7th Cavalry in Fairfield Ohio. Man has it been hot. Woke up this morning to a tornado warning in Topeka Kansas, and busted ass to get where the skies weren’t dark anymore… then went up in the Gateway Arch in St. Louis… how cool is that? What an incredible view although the ride up is a bit uncomfortable. Tomorrow an Saturday nights in Fairfield, then Sunday in downtown Chicago. We’re planning on rolling back into Denver on Tuesday, then picking up Sailor the Award Winning Dog on Wednesday morning.

Remember — June 22, 23 — Group Therapy 1644 Main St, Longmont CO… then July 1 at the DAV Poker Run benefit show, also in Longmont, at the American Legion 2-4:30 on Sunday July 1.

Seeya, Boomer

Tattoo You!

Nope, sorry Holly, Mick didn’t turn 40 that year.

But then again… since the Bigger Bang Tour is well into it’s second year, it might be possible that Mick turned 40 sometime before that tour ended… doubtful, though…

I’ve got to say that I thing the Bigger Bang arena show is probably the best thing in show business today. We lucked out in Denver and had them for Turkey Day…

Thank You, Thank You….

All Right – Quick Winner

Giddy Gabby hit the Bad Company question. Mick Ralphs from Mott the Hoople, Simon Kirke from Free, and Boz Burrel from King Crimson!

Congrats Gid!

Still looking for answers on the Stones Tattoo You tour question, and we’re gonna give up on Richard Valenzuela… Bonie Maronie is the song that is NOT on Richie Valens Greatest Hits!

Ok, what band named after a breed of dog had a 1958 hit on Vee Jay records, and what was the name of the song.

Boomer Rock Trivia – May 7

Ok, ok… it’s been a while, I know… lot of things going on. Duck was out busy at a writer’s conference in Colorado Springs, then out of commission in the hospital for a couple of days… back on track now, though…

In addition, we’ve been busy adding to our web presence and playing a new club in Longmont, Colorado… the club has actually been around for years, and we’ve all played it at one time or another, but this was a first for Boomersaurus. The club is called Group Therapy, on north Main Street.

On the web presence front, visit a couple of new places Boomersaurus at MySpace and Boomersaurus on Squidoo. They’re both turning out pretty cool. The Squidoo site has some interesting lists about favorite 60s bands that you can vote and sort.

We’re giving up the answer on the Mosrite thing… It was the Ventures with Walk Don’t Run 64….

New question: Bad Company was one of the first “Supergroups” made up of members from famous bands… Paul Rodgers came from the band “Free.” What are the last names and bands prior to BadCo for Mick, Simon, and Buz?
