Boomer Rock Trivia – March 4

Happy Birthday Lyssa in St. Cloud Minnesota… hope it’s finally warming up for you!

Some good guesses, but no answers yet on the last three questions.  Have you noticed that Boomer hasn’t posted them either?  New strategy.  Since the RSS feeds for Boomer’s blog sometimes take a while to float through cyberspace… Technorati, MyBlogLog, Google, Yahoo, MSN and other places, we’re holding off on posting the answers until someone gets it right.  This allows more time to get involved.  We’d love to give out prizes, but you know how it is for starving musicians…

Confidential to a guitar player I know…  regarding the quiz on the Hockey Stick (OK Boomer screwed up and orginally put “puck” instead of stick) head stock.  The last thing I was aware of is that Jackson, Charvel and Epiphone are not FENDER guitar models…  ok so Fender owns the Jackson and Charvel brands at this point, but not in ’65, and Epi is a Gibson brand.

Here’s another clue about the hockey stick head… there’s a couple of pictures of Pete Townshend playing one on an unofficial Who website.  (Geeze, ya didn’t think I’d give ya the link, did ya?)

While you’re thinking on that one, here’s a new one along the subject of Mark Stein…

OK, we revealed a couple of days ago that Mark Stein played with Vanilla Fudge.  Here are some more Marks (and one Marc)…  name their bands…

  • Mark Farner
  • Mark Knopfler
  • Mark Lindsay
  • Marc Bolan

  1. Holly says:

Well, Elvis’s middle name was Aron, I believe (one A for some reason).

    As for the Marks —
Mark Lindsay = Paul Revere & the Raiders
    Marc Bolan = T-Rex
Mark Farner = Grand Funk Railroad
    Mark Knpfler = Dire Straits
