OK, a few weeks ago I get an email from this marketing a-hole in Asia somewhere. Says he’s got a client who would like to use the Boomersaurus ™ trademark to build an internet brand.

“Nix on that, Pick-up-sticks,” I say. “I’d be happy to negotiate a license fee.”

His response was basically “Screw you, my client’s gonna do what he wants.”

Freakin’ Chinese. Of course I shouldn’t be surprised. Aside from poisoning our kids with paint and our dogs with freaking chemicals, and building crappy computers that you can’t get serviced (are you listening HP?????), they’ve been ignoring copyrights and other intellectual property rights for years.

Intellectual property rights… they don’t have a clue. Guess that started when that fat little bald shit Mao killed all the intellectuals as part of his freakin’ reeducation programs.

Now they just have different fat little bald shits stealing from the rest of the world and running their own freakin’ future over with tanks.

KMA, Beijing.

Ok, the first of March… some things are going to get weird this month with the time change happening in the MIDDLE rather than the end…Â GOOD LUCK and hope nobody is late for anything!!!!!

IMPORTANT MAILING LIST NOTE! If you are on our mailing list, but not getting our mailings, please be sure that Boomer is in your address book or allowed senders list. Boomers address for the mailing list is boomersaurus AT-SIGN boomersaurus.com (no spaces and replace AT-SIGN with you know what…)!Â

As you can see we’re VERY serious about e-mail address privacy at Boomersaurus.

Another fun note: Got an interesting contest response from Mark Stein’s webmaster, Pete. Seems he has a dog named after me… (ok, so his dog Boomer is not REALLY named after me, but after a group Mark had called Boomerang.)Â

Yes, Pete… “You Keep Me Hanging On” is on the Boomersaurus playlist… It was one of the main songs that Singosaurus Duck played on the huge organ  he and MaryJane Bann’d hauled around Colorado in the 60s,  … along with a few tunes featuring some guys named Winwood and Price…

We’re now using an eMu B-3 emlulator that sounds incredible and is hundreds of pounds lighter…

Inspired by Vanilla Fudge arrangements, MJB did a powerful 3/4 time version of “Lucy in the Sky” that was KILLER!

Thanks for the note Pete! Give Boomer the shepherd a hug for me. (Mine is a two year old yellow Lab named Sailor)…

seeya,

Since Boomer’s Corner #1 (see archive), there have been thousands of requests… ok maybe a couple or three… for more information on our manager Sam Slyme. Unfortunately, Sam is no longer with us. The Labrador retriever thing was only temporary, but it left Sam a bit friskier than normal. Apparently there was a husband somewhere who took offense. The picture below shows our good friend Detective Rock Hound investigating the circumstances of Sam’s recent demise.

Dinosaurs

At one time, someone made a statement about Led Zeppelin being ‘dinosaurs’. Now, when you search the web, there are tens of thousands of references to ‘dinosaur rock’. Oh, well.Boomersaurus may be dinosaurs, but we’re hip dinosaurs; and we like to play music that an entire very large generation loves to hear. Stuff that takes us back to our first car, our first kiss, our first …

What you won’t hear from Boomersaurus is the sterile, generic stuff that comes out of the Orlando pop-star factories and TV popularity contests… or the chick-a-boom stuff that implies that f**k, b*tch, and ho are the only words in the English language.

Rock On!!!!!

Our manager, Sam Slyme, was drinking martinis in a LODO nightclub last week when he met a fairy godmother at the bar.” I can grant you ONE wish, but only one,” she said.

Sam, thought, “I am already very rich, and very powerful, I’m not sure what I would wish for..” Just as the words were almost out of his mouth, he saw an entire pro-sports cheerleading team lined up for Kamikazes across the bar.”

“I’d like a permanent erection,” he said.

The fairy godmother nodded, waved her wand, and turned Sam into a Labrador retriever.
